If you’re like us, you’re always looking for a way to one-up your coffee, whether it’s an extra shot of espresso or improving your drip brew. Well, we have something that’s guaranteed to make your caffeine-senses tingle: Bulletproof coffee.
Created by Dave Asprey, Bulletproof coffee combines regular coffee with coconut oil (or MCT oil) and unsalted, grass-fed butter to make a frothy, latte-like concoction.
But why add butter and oil to coffee, you may rightly ask? Sounds pretty weird at first. Well, lovers of Bulletproof coffee say it makes them feel energized, focused, and full for hours on end (thanks to the high fat content). Grass-fed butter is filled with high-quality fats and nutrients, and eating fat has been shown to lead to more energy and more effective weight loss. The coconut oil, meanwhile, helps with fat loss. You’ll feel energized, like you do after a normal cup of coffee — but without the nasty crash that comes shortly after.
Worth a shot, right? Luckily, making Bulletproof coffee is nearly as easy as one-two-three. Or, really, three-two-one.
Disclaimer: ingesting this coffee will NOT render your insides bullet-repellant and in no way should you think that you’re Superman while drinking. Just wanted to make that absolutely clear so our lawyers are happy.
